Hellooooooooooooooooooooooo :)

I'm back!

Another couple of attacks had me laid low for a while but I'm back - be warned - I'm back - lol! Still a bit weak and wobbly but am reading and writing again so here I am blogging again.

So how are you? Well, I hope. Aren't we Brits lucky this Spring? Nice weather, numerous Bank holidays, and a whole Summer to look forward to.

This post threatens to lapse into the old school writing exercise of "What I did in the holidays" which I had to write in the seventies but here goes; forgive me if I lapse :)

Crafting and reading are difficult and slow these days but gardening is grrrrrrrreat.

I spend enormous chunks of every day gardening. If I need an excuse, which I don't, I call it my physio - lol!

The gravel area is completed in the first stage

I shall add more thyme between the slabs, more lavender too as I go. The scented rose (Zephirine Drouhin) needs to mature of course and hopefully this will be a scented hidey hole from which we can birdwatch.

I have been renewing borders, edging them, Steve has taken out old woody stuff and I have moved shrubs from other parts of the garden and top dressed. All very satisfying.

And planning ...... I just love planning. This is our next project.

We removed the dead half of this shrub - am pleased the salvaged half is surviving ok and the gaping hole will become a seating area with a scented climbing rose (Madame Alfred Carriere I think - anyway she is waiting in the wings, well a temporary nursery border in a huge pot) together with lavender and rosemary infilled with bulbs and perennials for all year round colour. There will be loads more seating areas in the garden - I manage ten minutes or so then need a break - a slow way to garden but at least you get to look at and enjoy what you've done.

Dennis and Deirdre continue to visit most days though Dennis has ideas far above his station - found him on the garage roof yesterday morning

- he stayed there berating me as I hung the washing - he hates the whirly washing line and makes his opinion noisily known!

We visited Bath to look at Bath Spa uni for Alex - nice.

There has been a 50th wedding anniversary party (not mine - lol!!)- nice - and warm enough for my new Summer stole.

A new art class - nice. Though I can not control the brush these days :)

It's nice to read this and see I'm still doing stuff. It's nice to visit your blogs and see you doing stuff too. Sorry I haven't left many comments though.

Happy Thursday, Happy May and Much Love.
L.x.

Sorry to hear you've had health problems, but it's amazing to see how busy you've been in your garden despite this. It's lovely to have lots of sweetly scented seating areas around the garden, I'm afraid I have only a postage stamp sized garden, but have planted it with plenty of lavender and some new roses, climbing and shrub.........your space is beautiful.
